Kyle A. Batson is an attorney at Martinez Reilly Trial Attorneys. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Kyle grew up near the Houston Medical Center which sent him on a career path towards medicine, however, after obtaining his Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas at Austin in 2020, Kyle discovered his passion for litigation while clerking for an Austin based law office. Kyle applied to law school and graduated from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2023, where he obtained his Doctor of Jurisprudence and graduated in the top 5% of his class.
During law school, Kyle served as a research assistant to Professor of Law Chad J. Pomeroy where he honed his ability to conduct complex legal research. Kyle was also selected to serve as a research assistant for the St. Mary’s School of Law study abroad program at the University of Innsbruck in Austria, where he studied international business transactions.
To further develop his abilities as an advocate, Kyle joined the St. Mary’s Law Journal as a Staff Writer. After displaying exceptional editing and leadership skills, Kyle was subsequently appointed to the Editorial Board of Volume 54 of the Journal as a Senior Associate Editor.
During his 2L year, Kyle was selected as a member of the St. Mary’s Alternative Dispute Resolution team. Having been invited back to the team his 3L year, Kyle competed in numerous national competitions and finished as a finalist and semi-finalist in various competitions.
In his free time, Kyle enjoys hiking, traveling, tennis, golf, and boxing.
